Irina Matei is Chief Executive Officer of Therme Dubai, where she leads the strategic development and delivery of Therme’s flagship Middle East project. Appointed in 2019, she oversees the project’s direction, stakeholder alignment and execution, positioning it within Dubai’s long-term development agenda across urban development, tourism and wellbeing infrastructure. With nearly two decades of experience, including over 15 years in the region, she is recognised for leading complex, high-profile initiatives. She holds an MBA from London Business School.

Paul Solomon is Head of Business Development at Therme Dubai, where he leads commercial strategy, partnerships and revenue development for the project. With over 15 years of experience across global banking and commercial leadership roles, including Citi, BNP Paribas and ING, he brings deep expertise in financial structuring, client relationships and business growth. He has also held senior operating roles, including Chief Financial Officer at Entropya, giving him a strong ability to bridge capital strategy with commercial execution.

Adam Zwaylif is Head of Finance at Therme Dubai, where he leads financial strategy, capital planning and performance management for the project. Appointed in 2023, he brings a background in investment banking from J.P. Morgan, including leading a $3 billion EMEA transaction. With experience across the UK and UAE, he is recognised for aligning financial strategy with complex development delivery. Adam is CIMA-qualified and holds a degree from the London School of Economics.

Henry Ungerer is Project Director at Therme Dubai, where he leads the delivery of Therme’s flagship project in the Middle East. With over 20 years of experience across the UAE, he brings deep expertise in engineering, construction and large-scale project execution, including involvement in landmark developments such as One Za’abeel, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi and Wynn Resort. He has held senior roles at ALEMCO, KBEC and other leading contractors. Henry holds an MBA from SBS Swiss Business School and a background in Electrical Engineering.

Azeez Hasan is Technical Project Manager at Therme Dubai, where he leads technical delivery and multidisciplinary coordination across the project. Appointed in 2025, he brings international experience delivering complex developments across the Middle East and the UK with firms including WSP and Zutari. A Chartered Engineer, he is recognised for driving technical excellence and design integration on large-scale projects. He holds a Master’s degree in Building Services Engineering Management and is CEng MCIBSE, PMP and LEED certified.

Henry Ungerer is Project Director at Therme Dubai, where he leads the development and delivery of Therme’s flagship project in the Middle East. Appointed in 2026, he is responsible for overseeing execution across all phases of the project, ensuring delivery is achieved with strong programme control, technical excellence and commercial discipline.
Henry brings more than 20 years of experience delivering complex, high-value developments across the UAE and internationally, with a career spanning engineering, project management and operational leadership. He has developed deep expertise in construction delivery, systems integration and large-scale project execution through progressively senior roles across leading contractors and delivery organisations.
Prior to joining Therme Dubai, Henry served as MEP Project Manager at ALEMCO, where he led the delivery of major building systems packages across high-profile developments in the UAE over a seven-year period. His experience includes managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating complex contractor interfaces and driving programme delivery within technically demanding environments.
Across his career, Henry has contributed to a range of large-scale developments in the UAE, spanning hospitality, mixed-use and infrastructure projects. His experience includes involvement in major landmark developments such as Wynn Resort & Casino in Ras Al Khaimah, One Za’abeel in Dubai, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld and infrastructure programmes at Dubai International Airport.
He previously held the role of Director of Operations at KBEC, where he was responsible for operational performance and project delivery, as well as senior project management roles at Paramount Technical Works and A&E Electrical Contractors.
At Therme Dubai, Henry brings a strong delivery-focused approach, working closely with the executive team, consultants and contractors to ensure the project is executed to the highest standards of quality, efficiency and performance.
Henry holds a Master of Business Administration from SBS Swiss Business School and has a background in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Africa. He also holds a Financial Diploma from Stellenbosch Business School.
Azeez Hasan is Technical Project Manager at Therme Dubai, where he leads technical delivery, consultant management and multidisciplinary coordination across Therme’s flagship project in the Middle East. Appointed in 2025, he is responsible for ensuring alignment between design, construction and operational requirements, supporting the delivery of a highly complex, integrated development.
In his role, Azeez works closely with project leadership, consultants and contractors to drive technical strategy, programme coordination and design integration across all phases of development. He plays a key role in maintaining design quality, technical performance and buildability, ensuring the project is delivered to the highest standards within a large-scale, multi-stakeholder environment.
A Chartered Engineer with senior international experience across the Middle East and the United Kingdom, Azeez brings a strong track record in delivering complex developments across aviation, hospitality, cultural and mixed-use sectors. Prior to joining Therme, he held senior roles with WSP, Zutari, Hilson Moran and Hoare Lea, contributing to projects with leading developers including Emaar, Miral, Majid Al Futtaim and Red Sea Global, as well as major programmes at Heathrow Airport and the University of Oxford.
He is recognised for combining technical expertise with commercial awareness and stakeholder coordination, enabling the delivery of complex developments in demanding environments.
Azeez holds a Master’s degree in Building Services Engineering Management and has completed executive education at Columbia University. He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng MCIBSE), a Project Management Professional (PMP), and a LEED Green Associate.

In his role, Adam works closely with executive leadership, investors and key stakeholders to support financial structuring, reporting and decision-making across the project lifecycle. He plays a central role in aligning development strategy with financial performance, ensuring effective capital deployment and maintaining oversight of financial risks within a complex, large-scale development environment.
Adam brings a background in corporate finance and investment banking, having previously worked at J.P. Morgan, where he developed expertise in transactions, financial strategy and operational performance. During his time there, he led buy-side execution on the largest digital asset management transaction in EMEA, with a transaction value exceeding $3 billion, as part of a complex back-to-back merger.
He began his career on the trading floor specialising in bond index derivatives, futures and rates, and also held a concurrent role as a Chartered Accountant for a boutique consultancy in London. He has extensive experience working with government stakeholders across the UK and UAE, bringing a strong understanding of regulated environments and institutional frameworks.
Adam is CIMA-qualified and holds a degree from the London School of Economics. He is an Arabic speaker and remains actively engaged in academia, contributing to peer reviews and lectures across educational institutions in the UK.

Paul brings more than 15 years of international experience across banking, finance and commercial leadership, with a strong track record in managing complex client relationships, structuring transactions and driving business growth. His career spans leading global financial institutions and operating roles, giving him a unique ability to bridge capital strategy with commercial execution.
He began his career in banking, holding senior relationship management roles at ING, Citi and BNP Paribas, where he worked with corporate and institutional clients across Europe. During this time, he developed deep expertise in financial structuring, client coverage and capital solutions, advising on complex transactions and long-term financing strategies within highly regulated environments.
He later transitioned into the commercial sector, where he has held senior leadership roles including Chief Financial Officer at Entropya and management roles at A-Heat Group. In these positions, he has been responsible for financial strategy, operational performance and business growth, gaining hands-on experience in scaling businesses and driving commercial outcomes.
At Therme Dubai, Paul leverages his combined financial and commercial expertise to support the development of partnerships, revenue models and growth strategies within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. He is recognised for his strategic mindset, relationship-driven approach and ability to navigate sophisticated financial and commercial landscapes.

As CEO, Irina serves as the senior representative of Therme Dubai across government, strategic and industry relationships, working to position the project within Dubai’s long-term development agenda and wellbeing ambitions. Her role spans executive leadership of the business, stewardship of key partnerships, and oversight of development and delivery, ensuring the project is advanced with the discipline, credibility and alignment required for a landmark destination of this scale. Publicly, she has consistently positioned Therme Dubai not simply as a destination, but as part of a broader model for how cities can integrate wellbeing, nature, culture and environmental harmony at scale.

Therme Dubai was launched in partnership with Dubai Municipality, with approval announced by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, as part of a landmark project aligned with Dubai’s broader quality-of-life ambitions. The development has been positioned as a global model for next-generation urban wellbeing, reinforcing the significance of Irina’s leadership in advancing the project from vision to execution.
Irina holds a Master of Business Administration from London Business School, as well as degrees in Public Relations, Advertising and Applied Communication from Alexandru Ioan Cuza University.
She is a strong advocate for integrating wellbeing into urban environments at scale and for making wellness more accessible as a public good.
